Miguel Gandelman was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Son of a saxophone player, Miguel started playing the saxophone when he was only five years old. He spent many years traveling with his family as his father toured Brazil. When he was 10, the Brazilian press featured him as a "rising star" and soon after, Gandelman was participating in studio recording sessions for his father and other Brazilian artists.
Miguel graduated from Berklee College of Music and currently resides in Los Angeles.
